Roofs still flying off of Corvettes, recalled again

You might be asking yourself why GM and the NHTSA are getting so worked up over a few Corvettes that might lose their roofs at speed due to faulty adhesive, but you obviously aren’t the guy behind the Corvette at 80 mph. Over 22,000 of the cars will face the fix, which GM will apply at no cost to the owners.

The problem is an obvious one: roof panels flying off at highway speeds can cause a safety issue. The symptoms indicating imminent failure, however, might not be so obvious, and include a snapping noise when driving over bumps, wind noise or a water leak in the headliner.

The latest roof recall is actually a fix of a previous recall for the same issue. In 2006, GM recalled almost 31,000 Corvettes for faulty roof adhesive, but it turns out the foam adhesive used in that recall and also briefly on the assembly line in Bowling Green, Kentucky, wasn’t quite up to snuff.

Instead, the new fix is to replace the panel and adhesive with new materials. The fix will begin in January, 2010. Concerned owners of 2005-2007 Corvettes and 2006-2007 Corvette Z06s can contact Chevrolet at 1-800-630-2438 or at GM’s Owner Center to see if they need to get their roof fixed.

Nashville area, is reporting that flash floods have submerged the interstate roads below water, trapping residents.Interstate 24 was closed at Bell Road because of a massive amount of flooding on the roadway Saturday, killing one person.

At 5:30 p.m, Interstate 24 was closed at Bell Road because of a massive amount of flooding on the roadway. About 70 cars on the interstate were submerged by the flood waters, but no injuries were reported.

The floods have prompted 50 boat rescues so far, with several counties requesting further assistance. One person has been reported dead so far. The paper is reporting that the Harpeth River is expected to crest at a record setting 32 feet before flooding subsides.

Homes have been evacuated, and the Red Cross is setting up assistance for flood victims.

Why would insurance be so high on sports cars for new drivers if its only a mustang GT?

I could understand a ferari maybe because its really fast and stuff and your more vulnerable to accidents.

But why so much for a sports car like a mustang? They arent that fast unless you beef then up with different performance parts.

In this article I am going to discuss about something that is preferred by any kind of person, and mostly the car lovers. Excited? I mentioned ‘any person’ because every one desires to have a car of their own and for car lovers, sport cars are something they cannot afford to loose. Sport cars or highline cars can be defined in several ways like sexy, stylish, ultimate speed machine etc.

Basically, the production of sport cars started after 1945 because after that the economy graphs started rising higher. Not only the financial condition, there was a revolution on the technology and the roads were more developed to run the sport cars. While talking about highline cars, then there are two types of people; one part is much interested in the old classic models and another one prefers latest speed machines. Actually, whenever we think of sport cars, these two things first come in our mind.
