Best picture now playing at home theaters

Mar. 9–Those enthralled with the art of film can roll out red carpets in front of their homes for stay-at-home viewing of the best picture winner of the 82nd annual Academy Awards.

“The hurt Locker” was released in January on DVD, meaning those who prefer the theater experience to fully appreciate award-winning performances likely won’t find the best film/best director winner showing at area theaters.

“All of the ‘Hurt Lockers’ were gone by 2 p.m.,” said Ron Staltzer, an employee at the rental shop. “The movies that get nominated always get picked up.”

however, those looking for the theater experience can still see best picture nominee “An Education” at 3 and 7 p.m. Sunday at the Capitol Theater at 50 N. George St. in York City.

the theater’s film curator, Donna Nicklow, says a panel chooses the winter

lineup in November, focusing on films that are rarely picked up by commercial theaters.

“We book the smaller, independent films that Regal (Cinemas) doesn’t,” Nicklow said. “We played (‘The hurt Locker’) here because we felt so strongly about the film.”

Nicklow is working on the spring lineup and says it likely will include the Academy’s best foreign and documentary films. she expects to release the lineup by late March or early April.

still at theaters: meanwhile, other Oscar winners including “Crazy Heart,” “Avatar” and “The Blind Side” are playing at Regal West Manchester 13 and Regal R/C Hanover, York County’s two wide-release multiplexes.

Kim Underwood, manager at the R/C Hanover Movies, said “usually we do see some response” following the Oscars, but that the theater hasn’t picked up any additional Oscar nominees for showing yet. however, she said that could change as more moviegoers express an interest in the Oscar films.

already “Avatar” has far surpassed other films in box office earnings, taking in $720 million compared to $14.7 million for “The hurt Locker,” a dramatization of the Iraq war. “The hurt Locker” and Pixar’s “Up,” another best picture nominee, are available on DVD. “Precious” is being released to DVD Tuesday.

according to Moviefone.com and other entertainment Web sites, award-winners that have not yet been released on DVD will stay in theaters to take advantage of the box-office boost from their Oscar status.

meanwhile, those who enjoy foreign films and documentaries may look forward to seeing “El Secreto de Sus Ojos” and “The Cove” at the Capitol in coming months.

Importance of Education:

Education is one of the key areas of human development and growth. All are not privileged to have the same opportunities of getting proper education and grow with dignity. Millions of young children and youth find their life drifting along the winds of fate and luck. Some fall into good hands and many into manipulating hands. If there is too much of disparity there will be continuing social unrest as it is seen today. Education Sponsors make the difference by supporting one of the crucial social causes of sponsoring the educational expenditures of the underprivileged. The news about such programs are found in their sponsored websites and news letters.

Sponsors’ News:

A light cannot be lit and hidden under a bushel. It has to be kept on a lamp stand. Good works done cannot be and should not be hidden. It should be made known, though in a moderate tone, for the sake of its inspirational value. Sponsor’s News need not be of the charity work alone, it can include the new avenues of social shouldering, fund raising, social networking, community building along with sponsoring links. The Education Sponsor News can be updated frequently and the site be maintained so that it remains relevant. Who is responsible for the newsletters and website maintenance? Definitely it should be done by the association that binds the sponsors together towards a common goal. Special programs and issues with great highlights could be broadcasted with much more prominence and even the press could be invited to be present. The news, then gets much more publicity and coverage along with the regular newsletters and websites.

Content of Education Sponsor News:

Besides the news of the recent past and the sponsor projects that are over, Education Sponsor News could include the brainstorming on new projects and initiatives, opening of new avenues, announcing the standing projects’ application and last dates etc. It could include the individual initiatives taken up by individual sponsors in small or big ways and make a special mention of their generosity so that they get due respect and coverage. It could include the students’ initiatives in fulfilling the requirements of the scholarship programs. Special incentives could be announced for the students who excelled in their studies with the help of the sponsor projects.

Work Your Way To The Top Through Sports Nutrition Education

When sport became professionalized athletes began searching for ways to improve their performances. For sports the physical aspect was predominant and athletes sought their way for golden medals at regular doctors. Sport became an industry and the need for specialized physicians grew. This brought a new specialization in medicine; sports medicine. Here after further specialization progressed and sports nutrition became a specialization in sports medicine.

Sport and physical health in general became popular, to practice and also as a form of entertainment. A new and profitable industry was born where many people make there living as does the specialist in sports nutrition. The study of sports nutrition was popular among younger students. The idea of working with famous athletes, or better yet becoming a better athlete themselves was the driving force for and maybe still is the driving force for this study.

The curriculum of this study focuses on understanding how the body functions during exercise and sport. The goal is to maximize the athletic potential and minimizing health risks.

This study provides a scientific background, specific knowledge and skills to address concepts and controversies relating to sports nutrition, sports physiology and to explore the links between nutrition, physiology, performance and health outcomes through the life cycle.

The educational principles integrate nutrition and exercise physiology and application to exercising individuals. The topics that are commonly studied are specific nutrient needs, energy expenditure, hydration, fuel substrate metabolism, ergogenic aids and weight issues for exercising individuals and athletes.

The program also has topics like personal training programs specially designed for the individual client. The focus is on the clients’ workout and how to enhance the physical program and to provide the best nutrition plan. The aim is to tailor the program to the specific needs of their body. The program should include proper nutrition, the necessary supplements and beneficial vitamins and minerals.

The curriculum has a lot to offer. Most institutes have similar courses on a college level that don’t only educate on sport nutrition but much wider than that. The program consist of courses like basic sports science, sport psychology, human physiology, data analysis, functional anatomy, exercise physiology, nutritional physiology and biochemistry, human nutrition, research methods, biomechanics and much more.

The students of sports nutrition education learn the following:

-How nutrients are taken in and how foods are digested and metabolized to provide necessary energy to fuel muscular activity.
-Dietary patterns that maximize performance and prevent disease.
-Research advancements in ergogenic aids.
-Supplementation and the pros and cons of popular diet techniques.
-Sample eating plans showing how to fuel for specific workouts.
-How to distinguish among food, diet, and supplement options and understand which are best and why.
-How to overcome food and weight obsessions.
-How to lose undesired body fat while maintaining energy for exercise.
-Strategies to boost energy, reduce stress, control weight, improve health and enhance workouts.

When you graduate from this study you will be able to get a job in the sports industry. The graduate can target various industries for employment. The following can be targeted: local or state government agencies, hospitals, rehabilitation clinics, institutes of sports, universities and colleges and also personal training. There a many options available to the graduate.

Studying sports nutrition is good investment and will give the graduate more than enough chances to work in this wonderful industry. Even so, many students continue onto a PGCE or Masters course in a related area.

Forex Trading Education – Trading the News

News trading is a popular tactic that many Forex retail traders will try sometime in their trading careers. However, not many people are aware of what it takes to trade the news successfully. In this short article, I will discuss the implications of news trading for retail traders like you and me.

What is news trading?

News trading (also known as ‘trading the news’) involves the entering into trades just before, or immediately after the release of important economic news announcements. Traders ‘trade the news’ because market prices tend to move up on good news, and move down on bad news. Important economic news announcements typically affect currency prices directly.

Why is news trading so popular?

The biggest reason for the popularity of news trading is the potential for large price movements in a very short period of time. Prices can move up to 100 pips (or more) in under a minute just after certain news is released.

The large profit potential is what lures most traders to take part in news trading. You can make a lot of money in a very short period of time.

But! News trading is dangerous

Indeed, with the large profit potential comes the possibility of a large loss. News trading is dangerous because if you’re caught on the wrong side of a trade, you can lose money so quickly that you won’t even have enough time to manually close your trades. Even stop loss orders are unreliable during news trading because of the high probability of suffering from slippage.

Should you news trade?

Honesty, I wouldn’t recommend anyone to news trade unless they’re absolutely sure about what they’re doing. Successful news trading requires one to first have superior (faster) news feeds and second to have uncanny reaction speeds to quickly enter your trades the moment news is announced.

Any other form of news trading such as placing limit orders on either above or below the market price is simply guessing. And if you’re guessing, you won’t survive very long in the market.

My advice for most retail traders would be to avoid news trading altogether.
