How did yellow journalism affect the US at the turn of the 20th century?

Can you please tell me how yellow journalism affected the United States at the turn of the 20th century? does yellow journalism still exist? and if possible please give examples. Please don't give me smart remarks like do your own homework because this is a part of doing my own homework. Thanks.

Hey! I did this topic just a few weeks ago for my journalism class. :) anyway, yes, Yellow Journalism still exists. It's basically fake or exaggerated, like the black and white magazines in the checkout line at Wal-Mart or something.

    okay so i dont like to use my credit card online so i get the magazines every month and im looking at an old magazine that has some nice shoes in it that the new magazine dosent is it possible to order from the old one?

      News Media Hype or Data?

      A recent AP sub-story sought to associate the recent Gym-murders (by a true loser) and a WI sporting goods store. the linkage was that two murderers who gained infamy via the media purchased items from the same on-line store. See link.

      Is this not just hype — de instill fear of firearms.

      Do we know that both murderers did not share common purchases with say Amazon, NetFlixs or Cabala’s. we do not know — should we boycott the retailer of the common TP used by both of these criminals?

      Association of a to B does not imply causation. Yet, we did not see a linkage between these murderers and say Kraft Mac & Cheese a product that both of these murderers is likely to have consumed sometime in their pathetic lives.

      Should not the AP and other media be called on this illogic?
      Fsup — Note — NEITHER of these individuals purchase any weapon from these firms. the purchased parts for weapons. Perhaps magazines or grips.

      It is difficult and expensive to purchase weapons via the web. You must have the weapon shipped to a local license FFL who charges a fee for such service and all local taxes on its value must be paid. all local laws must be obeyed.

      So there were no weapons purchased only parts —
      I am extending this — hoping to acquire a few more answers and opinions.

      Did you watch Shaun White, Lindsey Vonn or Shani Davis win the gold in their events at the Winter Olympics on Wednesday night? How closely are you following the coverage this year? what are your favorite Olympic sports and athletes? why?

      If you watched Shaun White on Thursday night, you’ll probably agree with John Branch’s analysis in “White Cements his Status With 2nd Gold” that this athlete “quickly proved the hype was deserved”:

      [...]But this clear, crisp night belonged to White, whose most remarkable trick of the past few years has been fusing counter-cultural cool with mass appeal. he arrived at the Olympics not only as an overwhelming favorite to win the gold medal, but as one of the most recognized athletes of them all. his famous smile and long red hair were plastered on magazines and television promotions for months in anticipation for this night[...]

      “This season has been unlike any season I’ve ever had before,” White said. “Where I crashed probably more than I ever have, I’ve been frustrated, I’ve lost sleep. I really pushed myself as far as I could go, not only to have to invent these tricks but actually have do them, and then win.”

      White is only 23, and he made it clear that he plans to defend his gold medal again in Sochi, Russia, in 2014. it could be said that the quest begins now. But in all likelihood, success will be determined about three years from now, in the 9 or 10 months before the Olympics, when and if Shaun White puts his mind and body into sending halfpipe snowboarding into the future again.
