What do you think of Bonnaroo festival in Tennessee?

What goes on there? is it fun? Obviously the bands are AWESOME because I looked at the lineup.. but what do you think if you have been there?

I was literally offered drugs by so many strangers and never had to pay for any of it. The music was a plus too.

What are your opinions on building the mosque near ground zero?

I have heard people say that it's a victory mosque and and that it's disrespectful. I have heard other people say that they should feel free to worship as they please and I agree with that but I can't help but think that this is disrespectful to build it so close to ground zero. from two blocks away you will be able to hear the music and chanting coming from the mosque. Isn't that eerie? What are your opinions on this?

To place things into proper perspective, this is what "religious" approach to God [Allah] does. by definition: religion seeks to do its own thing part from regarding the feelings and love towards others.
in this case concerning the Mosque near "ground zero", the proponents thereof, are lacking wisdom and the love of God [Allah in this case] without regards to the feelings of others (victims).
It not only demonstrates a lack of love but is a very cold and callused towards all people of any affiliation with what is right, just and merciful. "Freedom to worship" is not a ticket to avoid expressing the love of God towards the heart-felt concerns of others. Remember; many people of varying races and religious affiliation died in the Twin Towers and vicinity including Muslims, Christians, Jews, other faiths and non believers, alike.

Obviously you've never lived in New York or any other big city. you would not be able to hear music, chanting, or anything else from two blocks away. It's in a neighborhood of high-rise buildings and heavy traffic, and nobody visiting Ground zero would even be aware of the Islamic community center's existence if they hadn't been told about it by crazed right-wing radical pundits trying to make it an election year issue.

What a lot of you people don't understand is that 9/11 wasn't about religion. It wasn't Islam vs. Christianity; it was terrorists vs. the U.S. government. Hundreds of Muslim Americans were among those killed on 9/11, and the terrorists would gladly kill thousands more if they thought it would help their cause. They aren't out to kill all Christians; they want to kill Americans, regardless of their religion. They aren't the ones who want to make it a "holy war"; you conservative Christians are. there is no connection between the terrorists and the Muslim Americans who want to build a peaceful community center.

first its not a mosque its a community center that will include a prayer room

second they are within their rights to build whatever religious house of worship wherever they own land

there will be no music chanting minarets etc its going to have community center things like i believe a kitchen and job training and outreach offices things like that, there will be a prayer room within but thats all

there is another like this right across the frickin street from Ground zero by the way it was there before the Towers were built in the 70's and it continues to be there

this "Ground zero Mosque" is a conjured controversy just in time for mid term election season that is all it is
Fox news and its Saudi Connections (Saudi Prince Alawid, or however his name is spelled, owns the second highest share in Newscorp) has about as many degrees of seperation from terrorist organizations than the imam who is trying to build the center

I think they could have found a better site. or done this later.

However, they are not doing anything illegal. the zoning and other boards that review these things have found no reason to stop this.

Fundamentally I think this shows an important point.

The Taliban would not have permitted the building of a church, synagogue, Hindu temple, Buddhist temple, etc. anywhere.

Many Middle Eastern countries do ont permit other religions, or place draconian measures on them.

This behaviour by others is no reason for us to do the same. in fact the fact that we are allowing this Islamic Community Center to be built show that we are better than the fanatics in other countries that refuse to allow a different voice to be raised.

We permit this because we are better than those others. whether the majority of Americans like it or not the people behind this have a right, within the limits of the law applied equally to all citizens, to build what they want where they want.

And I would argue that without that right the USA would be no better than the tin-pot fanatics that were behind 9-11 and the other terrorist acts.

It is a damned shame and travesty that my fellow Americans would seriously consider opposing a free and independent people from partaking in their religious worship. Our nation was not only founded on the belief of religious tolerance and respect, but also the essence of freedom and the American way of life is threatened by the "Ground zero Mosque" protesters. the building of a mosque on the sacred ground of the former Burlington Coat Factory does not deserve to be even considered as an issue in this day and age, but sadly my fellow simple-minded citizens disagree. Building this mosque won't be a "giant middle finger" at the victims of 9/11, but would be a middle finger towards the hatred and injustice preached by the terrorists who attacked us on that day. Islam did not attack the U.S. Al-Qaeda did. To claim that all muslims are members of Al-Qaeda would be the same as declaring all blacks members of the Black Panthers, or all Christians members of the Nazi Party. As a Jew, and as a 9/11 victim relative, I can honestly say that I would feel worse about my country if this mosque is not built, than at any other point in my life.

Those people are misinformed.

It's not a "victory mosque" nor is it "disrespectful" because:

1. AMERICANS are building this building.
2. ALL Americans have freedom of religion in this country according to the Constitution.

i doubt it, i think the mosque part of the community center is supposed to be on the top two floors of the 13-story building.

Explain how it is disrespectful. What I think is disrespectful is assuming that Muslims are all terrorists and are affiliated with terrorists organizations. That seems to be what you're implying, which is pretty ignorant.

In a country so proud of it's religious freedom, and it being completely legal, I'm embarassed that my fellow citizens are objecting.

The 9/11 attacks had nothing to do with religion, so it's irrelevant. This will become more clear as the government and media finds less value in propaganda to promote current agendas.

What difference does it make?? would everyone be so up in arms if they were to build a Christian church there? No. No one would have said a thing OR there would have been enormous positive media attention.

I'm tired of people moaning about it. Just build the damn thing.

Let them build it. BUT, build a Christian church and a synagogue right in the middle of Baghdad,
right at the site of one of their most sacred historic catastrophies. I'm not student of Iraqi history, but I'm sure you could find something.

Then, let the world see who is tolerant and who is a nut-job. Guaranteed, there would be mass killings and bombings on a weekly basis as "retaliation" for building a non-Islamic church on a "holy site", and they would start murdering innocent people in the name of Allah.

Show religious tolerance HERE, and show the world that the Muslim nations are intolerant, militant, and violent, because they absolutely are.

Quickly upon the incoming reports of violence and murders protesting the Christian and Jewish churches, we then immediately revoke the permit and forbid building the mosque here, becuase by their own demonstration, Muslims would have shown themselves to not be a religion that is entitled to our standard protections, but instead, a terrorist organization, and we can forbid them building the mosque on that basis.

Its f u cked up big time. They can worship all they want but thats a big slap in face for the people who died on 9/11. Imagine this, everyone you loved, family, mom, dad, sister, brother, childhood friend, child, partner, love of your life, ect. died in those buildings…. and you were left with nothing. Nothing but grief. and now the people who killed your loves in cold blood are rubbing it in your face by building a place that they will go to and continue on the rest of there lives right in front of the grave.

They can have any place at all to build this mosque and yet they build it right there. I new a boy that was 9 and lost both his parents to 9/11 while he was at school. they were all he had. he went on to foster care and i sadly lost connection with him. How do you think he feels about this? or anyon that has lost ? and he isnt the only person i know who has lost bigtime that day.

I think that because of this mosque, the Muslims in this country have proven their true colors and have shown what a distrustful and worthless people they are. They shouldn't even be allowed IN this country if they can't respect the fact that we've faced a tragedy and are still mourning. instead, they laugh at us with this mosque. I say its a disgusting idea. President Barack Hussain should be ashamed to even call himself an American.
