What path should I follow to become a sports agent?

I am going to be a Senior in high school next fall and I know I want to major in Economics. I am thinking about a minor, and I wanted to know what I would minor in to have a chance to be a sports agent? Would it be sports management? Also, how difficult is it to become a sports agent, not even a good one for NBA, NFL, MLB athletes, but one for players that play in smaller leagues overseas and in minor pro leagues. What is the purpose/point/good of sports in school? The focus should be on education and sports cost tax money?

I’m not saying sports are bad, it’s just that it seems that kids today are focusing too much on them and not enough on their academics. It surely doesn’t help that sports are often a big part of schools. Why not keep them separate?
