Do you have to qualify for/ and register for the Boston marathon?

I know the qualification times, but I thought people also ran it unregistered as their first marathon. is this possible, or do you HAVE to qualify and register?

If you are talking about yourself, then it really sucks for you. Boston filled up in less than a day, symbolizing that Marathoning in the United States and the world is having a gigantic running boom. Really remarkable that 25,000 people signed up in less than a day and most of them al qualified…Wow..

To get an official time, you have to qualify and register. you cannot be at the starting line with the other racers if you have not qualified or registered in some way.

Watching the playoff games after they have aired (without knowing …

OK, so, if you guys remember my earlier thread about watching the NFL in South Africa it finally became official that I will be there for the first round of the playoffs. my problem is that no bar will be showing the game as it will most likely start very late their time. The place I am staying also will not be showing it and the internet is not capable of streaming. I’m expecting to go to an internet cafe or something the next day for the game.

I was wondering if anyone here knows a site or something I could do to watch the game after it has been played that won’t tell me the score right off the bat. I was thinking of using the NFL’s international gamepass (which lets you watch games live if you’re in any country other than the united states) because I think they archive every game on there website. I was wondering if anyone has experience with international gamepass and doing this because I don’t want to go to their site to watch the archived game only to see “JETS WIN 20-10!” as that will ruin the game for me.

Anyone know anything about this or other good ways to do this?

Demise of Davies's World Cup Hopes Exaggerated, Player Says

Don’t believe it, Charlie Davies says.

A Report from Agence France-Presse citing Sochaux medical staff saying Davies, the United States striker, has lost his fight to be fit for the World Cup is not true.

“Whoever is saying these things is trying to take the confidence out of me and doesn’t want me to succeed,” Davies said by telephone from France on Tuesday. “For me, it’s just more motivation.”

Davies first learned of the report, which he says is erroneous, while watching TV and surfing the Internet.

“I follow FIFA.com on Twitter,” he said. “I saw the report, ‘Davies Loses Fitness Battle,” and was like, I just did a fitness test yesterday and I passed it!”

A member of Sochaux’s media staff called Davies soon after to reassure the player that no one from the club’s staff ruled him out and that the club would issue a statement.

Cedric Blomme, the club’s trainer, said, “I don’t want to be pessimistic. Davies has come through so much and is progressing from day to day.”

He added: “A list of 30 players will be unveiled and perhaps he will be on it. we will have to see how he goes.”

Davies, who was seriously injured in car accident last October in which another passenger was killed, has endured a grueling six-month recovery. he has said repeatedly that the chance to play in the World Cup has motivated him to recover far sooner than doctors expected.

Last week, United States Coach Bob Bradley said that he was heartened by Davies’s progress, but that he has not decided whether or not to include the forward in his team for South Africa.

Davies has not played in a match since helping the United States qualify for the World Cup with a victory in Honduras last October. he returned to full-contact training on Thursday, April 22, but may not play for Sochaux before the end of the season.

Why do the people in the United States seldom hear about news events from Canada or México, 2 close neighbors?

These two countries border the U.S.; yet, the people who grow up and live in the U.S. quite often know next to nothing about either of these two countries, current events within Canada or México, or anything about important people who live and rule either of these nations.

Doesn’t this strike you as a bit odd?
