Is there a website that summarises the weeks main news stories?

I don’t follow the news intensely, but I need to have knowledge of the weeks news for my course. I will check the news on occasions mainly via the internet (BBC) but I don’t cover the news every single day. I am wondering if there’s any way of finding out the weeks main news stories for each particualar day, cheers.

What is the best website for acquiring up to date news specifically regarding science?

I used to navigate through CNN’s page, but they have recently removed the ‘science’ news tab from their main page. What’s going on? Science is too important to leave out! I need a reliable source for science news coverage.
